there's nothing so outstanding that it'll blow you away imo but the best in FH for me is "Hot Bialys" or "Hot Bagels" on the north side of QB near Union Tpke. Best one I've had in Queens is Bagelette (I think that's the name) in Rego Park. If you go towards the city on QB, make a right on the corner between the Sears and gas station. Go down a block or two and it's on your right near the end of the row of stores.

I'm surprised by the love for Gotta Getta Bagel. Although they're so far the best bagel I've had since moving to FH, the 5.75 I paid for a plain with cream cheese and tomato is insane, and it wasn't all that great. FH72 is right. Bagels in FH totally suck, and I just don't get it. Any other suggestions for a good bagel in Forest or even Rego/Forest?

My question is, how does one Barnes & Noble (with a non-existent media section no less) count as "bookstores" as in "more than one"?

Am I missing the other bookstore in Forest Hills, or are we counting the Borders in Glendale now?

I think that was an excellent article in which to attract people from Manhattan and elsewhere to consider living in Forest Hills! This city has a lot to offer and so many people do not realize how convenient a location Forest Hills really is-- easy access to all airports, NYC, and pretty much any borough! Also, it would be nice to see more young professionals around this town. If FoHi 72 doesn't stick up for our town who will!

(1) I believe that 12 minutes qualifies as "less than 30 minutes"; also, I have lived in Forest Hills for 25 years and have never taken the LIRR into Manhattan, so while I know that you and lots of your readers are big LIRR fans, I think the vast majority of potential renters are still interested in the subway timing.

(2) I think both Gotta Getta Bagel and the bagel shop on Ascan (whose name I can never remember) have excellent bagels.

(3) I believe you meant "Jews," not "jews." Sometimes capitalization typos do make a difference.
